Our canine friends like a good day out as much as we do, so this Leeds bar’s event will be perfect for their next outing.
Does your pet Schnauzer have an award-worthy beard? Does your labradoodle have the waggiest tail on the block? Or, could you and your beloved border collie be the next Ashleigh and Pudsey and wow a crowd with a paw-dropping performance?
And, more importantly, is your pet pooch a sociable beast that loves chowing down on barbecue treats?
If the answer to any of the above questions is a yes, then please read on…
One of the best-loved pubs in central Leeds is going barking mad this June and throwing a BBQ in aid of Dog’s Trust, and you and your four-legged friends are invited!
Collar Club will take place on Saturday 22nd June between 12-5pm in The Lamb & Flag’s recently revamped beer garden and spreading out into Leeds Ministers beautiful grounds, it is set to feature a host of canine-centric competitions and activities designed to raise money for the charity.
And, while pooches present on the day will be encouraged to kick back and have fun, they’ll need to raise their game if they want to win prizes in the Collar Club Dog Contest. There will be no less than 11 ‘doggy bags’ to hand out to winners of the following contests:
• Best Paw Shake
• Slobberiest Smile
• Pawfect Pic (online entry)
• Waggiest Tail
• Best Trick
• Friendliest Pup
• Muggiest Mutt
• Sassiest Strut
• Best Beard
• Tallest & Smallest
These highly prestigious doggy bags will contain a host of treats guaranteed to get tails wagging, including snacks, squeaky toys and more. There will also be a pooch-friendly playlist pumping out throughout the day, so expect to hear bops from the likes of Snoop Dogg, Elvis Presley and of course, The Baha Men.
And, while the Collar Club is really all about the dogs, there will be plenty for humans to enjoy on the day too. There will be a Special Edition barrel of “Leeds Paw” which has been donated by Leeds Brewery along with a tombola with some super cool prizes, including meal vouchers for all Leeds Brewery Pubs & other local businesses, as well as a range of child-friendly prizes, with all proceeds going to Dog’s Trust
There will be everything you could need to keep your dog happy on the day. This includes dog treats, poop bags water bowls and a miniature paddling pool if it turns out to be a hot day.
So, don’t paws for thought. Get Saturday 22nd June pencilled into your diary and prepare for a dog-tastic day for one of the UK’s most treasured and worthy charities.
