Formerly known as the True Briton, the large pub located in Meanwood will take on the new name of the Beck and Call when it reopens!
The Beck & Call will have a preview weekend starting Saturday 25th May, the venue will feature a new children’s play area, beer garden and open kitchen.
Under the new ownership of Directors Simon Stevens and Ashley Kollakowski (behind successful Leeds pubs and bars Belgrave Music Hall, Headrow House and Water Lane Boathouse), the venture aims to reinvigorate a tired pub, reinstating it as a North Leeds venue for all – family, friends, and sports fans alike.
Directors Stevens and Kollakowski said:
“We’re really looking forward to opening the Beck & Call. It’s close to where both of us live in North Leeds, and to have somewhere we can walk to and enjoy a pint and a proper roast with friends and family while the kids play is going to be awesome. It’s been our biggest project yet in terms of the work we’ve carried out, but we’re really pleased with how it’s all coming together.”
The Beck and Call will feature an extensive menu of locally sourced traditional pub grub, curated by Ben Davy, Food Development Chef for the group (which includes the Michelin Guide Recommended restaurant Ox Club at Headrow House).
You can expect the likes of Fish & Chips, Steak & Ale Pie and a Sunday roast with all the trimmings, including bottomless gravy.
Food Development Chef Ben Davy said:
“We’ve focussed on a proper traditional offering this time around, with something for everyone, including a number of vegetarian and vegan dishes. There will be daily offers on too like buy one burger get another for £1, so there’s something to suit all budgets.”
The Beck and Call will open daily, 11am – 11pm, from Saturday 25 May.
